About Amazing Dreams Publishing
Do you have
a novel you believe in but haven't been successful getting it
published? Perhaps your manuscript has been turned down time
and again, you think it may need editorial help, but you have
no idea where to go. At Amazing Dreams Publishing, we are committed
to assisting writers who are tired of the struggles many people
find in the publishing world.
What
we do
Amazing Dreams is a cooperative press, which means you,
as the author, help with the costs of production. We are wanting
to build a community for good writers who have had problems
getting their work out through mainstream presses. The benefit
will be that the writers who are with us will keep their rights
and make way more money than going with a standard publisher.
By joining up with Amazing Dreams, our writers will get a nice
product that we will market extensively to over 5000 lesbian
friendly bookstores, gift shops, book clubs and other places
that we have researched and purchased the listings for.
We are now
putting together four different publishing plans to help authors
on all income levels to get their books out. We hope to have
this part of the press open to new authors in the next four
to six months. The costs to the author will depend on what she
may need done with her book, such as editing, layout, typesetting,
or cover design. The publishing plans will range from $200 for
an initial set up, which means the author takes care of everything
and sends us completed cover and text files ready to upload
to the printer, to a full scale book design which, depending
on the cover, could run over $1500. If you go with the plan
where the author takes care of everything, the book will have
to be approved by our staff as far as cover design and content,
interior text layout, and editing and proofing. If we find that
any of these things is not in line with our standards, then
the writer will have the option of resubmitting the book under
a different plan, or we can publish the work as is for the setup
fee, but the total marketing of the book will be the writer’s
sole responsibility.
Do you want to publish your own book, but you don't know
where to go?
The best and least expensive company we have found for printing
and retail distribution is Global
Book Publishers. They use POD, which means your book is
printed as it is ordered. Only books that are ordered are printed,
so there is no waste, and no huge financial layout for a big
press run or to warehouse your titles.
As their name states, Global Book Publishers is a worldwide
company. Each month they also choose one new author to receive

If you would like to go the more traditional route and find
a non-cooperative publisher, we highly suggest The Harris

The importance of a professional editor
If
you send a book to any publisher and the book is not as perfect
as you can get it (without plot problems, typos, or grammatical
errors) you will most likely be rejected. Every book that comes
through Amazing Dreams has to go through an editing process.
Even though we are a co-op we will not publish just anything.
We want to help writers who have been through the trials of
rejection with other presses and are willing to work with us
to make their stories the best they can be.
Even if you don't decide to go the
co-op route with Amazing Dreams at first, we may be able to
assist you with editing. We have several excellent editors who
