Summer is upon us--long hot days and warm nights--perfect for cookouts and camping with your favorite women friends! Summer is a perfect time for reading, and we've added a whole new section to our website, just for those of us who love to lay back in a hammock under a nice shade tree in the company of a good book.

WELCOME TO THE NEW AMAZING DREAMS PUBLISHING ONLINE BOOKSTORE

In the last few years, many GLBT bookstores have closed their doors. We only have a listing of 90 independent bookstores for the US and Canada, which is sad but true. As for our books going into large chain stores like Barnes & Noble or Books a Million, it is nearly impossible for a press as small as Amazing Dreams to take such a financial risk. These bookstores want to purchase their books at wholesale pricing, which is below what we pay to have our books printed. You also have to sign a contract that guarantees that the press will buy back all unsold books, which most are shelf-worn and not in good enough condition to be resold upon return. It would only take a couple of hundred returns of these types of books for us to have to file for bankruptcy.

In an effort to handle these dismal circumstances, we are providing our books and as many lesbian-themed products as possible directly from our website. This includes the works of other writers, artists, and publishers. You may have noticed that we are now selling everything from posters to magnets in order to keep our business alive and thriving. This also enables us to continue providing over 1,000 free services for lesbian and bisexual women worldwide.

Since so many of our bookstores have closed their doors, we have decided to open part of our website to a new online bookstore just for lesbian and bi women. We are selecting only the best books for this bookstore, and will have many categories to choose from. At this time, we have an assortment of Lesbian Coming Out Books, Lesbian Sex Stories and Sexuality Books, Lesbian Partnership and Wedding Books, and books on Lesbian Parenting, Lesbian and Gay Kids, and Lesbian Parents.

MORE GREAT NEWS AT AMAZING DREAMS PUBLISHING
Last weekend, Amazing Dreams had representatives at Wimfest, 2005 in Akron Ohio! Nancy and Pam took a road-trip for their first big lesbian festival! Here's the report:

JUNE WEB STATS
In June we had 85,950 visits and 2,142,938 accesses--another record-breaking month! Thanks to all for spreading the word about our services in the chatrooms and to your email lists; and double thanks to the everyone who has placed links to us from your websites. Because of you, we are reaching thousands of women worldwide.

NEW SERVICES
This Month we have new Lesbian Ecard Designs from Private Pink, a company owned and run by lesbians in Australia; new Lesbian Sports Column by Patricia Nell Warren; new Lesbian Film Reviews Including Short-Short reviews by our staff; and more new Lesbian and Fantasy Women posters and Lesbian Magnets. We now have a total of 58 Lesbian Networking Groups--one in every US state, and several more in English Speaking Countries. These groups have only been online a few months, and we already have 624 members--almost double from May! Our Lesbian/Bi Woman Online Support Group now has 176 members from all over the world. Here are a few notes of appreciation:

NEW ECARDS BY PRIVATE PINK
Private Pink have created a new funky independent Lesbian Calendar for 2006. We are a Sydney based design studio (owned and operated by us - 2 lesbians) and we just finished creating a funky dykes calendar for 2006. It is self funded, and 100% aussie made. With our base in Sydney Australia we've had the privilege of living in a very gay tolerant - nay - friendly city for the last few years. Not really in the scene but with the occasional nodding of our head on the sidelines we've seen enough of what's around to realize that for us girls - there isn't much. It's that and the blurry recollections of Mardi Gras or walking down the street in Newtown that have led us to create Private PINK and this calendar - the first of many future Private PINK productions.

We've got new films listed for you, and we've updated and optimized our film review pages for a faster load! We also have a new feature called Amazing Dreams Short-Short Reviews, which includes what some of us think about these films complete with an up to 5-Star rating. If you've seen a film that you just love, and it's not on the Amazing Dreams Website, or there is no review listed for it, feel free to send us your own review and we may just post it! LESBIAN NETWORK is our free networking service for Lesbians, Bisexual, and Bi-Curious Adult Women. All such women ages 18 to 118 are welcomed free.
