January 2007 Forecast

The New Year blows in with a great big Sagittarian Bang! With Jupiter, its ruler, and Mars and Pluto all riding in on the back of the Centaur, this could be a time of renewed optimism as we all entertain bright visions and new futures. The tendency to burn the candle, not only at both ends but right down the middle, needs to be curbed as we flame into another year trying to avoid the crash and burn.

We are seeking not only new meaning but Truth, in a radical way. Radical means the root, and we will want to get to the root of our issues, philosophies, and shadows. No doubt a few sacred cows may be sacrificed along the way, but that is as it should be when we embrace something potentially deeper and more true.

This could be the year that you write that great novel, finally go abroad, finish or start school, or even start the great Sapphic School of Metaphysical Studies that you have always envisioned. Think BIG and think outside of the box as this will surely be a time to create the life and world that you most want to live in to.

Envelopes were made to be pushed, and as a dear friend once said, "If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much room!" This is not a call for reckless abandon but for abandoning the restrictions that bind you to a way of life that you have outgrown. This can be a time to create new rituals and regimens that will truly heal and resonate to your true nature. Since this is "your call," so to speak, eliminate the shoulds and allow yourself to align with this wonderful and exhilarating time by co-creating and living into YOUR DREAM.

The Full Moon in Cancer on Jan. 3 may bring in a deep emotional high tide. We may find ourselves immersed in the waters of nostalgia, and longing for safer and calmer times. A trine to the planet Uranus on this day may make for a much more unusual ride through the kozmic white water and possible more fun to boot.

Jan. 13 may well be one of the more challenging days of the year, as Mars and Pluto conjoin to tap dance with each other all over the planet. This pair can carry violence, danger and intensity in their wake, so do be mindful while driving and in any situations where one should ordinarily exercise caution. I am not a gloom and doomer, but this transit could well send shock waves around the world for one reason or another as aggressive energies appear to be having their way with us.

As we enter this time of retreat as the cooler temps drive us indoors and inside, remember to keep your light shining brightly, and to find that sacred flame inside of you that burns with brilliance and constancy.
